Embodiment & Perception Training - awareness as an art form
Using specialized practices, we get in touch with the senses and sensation, cultivating kinesthesia, proprioception, interoception and exteroception and heighten the body’s capacity to perceive, as we hone our ability to notice what moves us. Seeking to cultivate and utilize somatic intelligence and embodied cognition, we get a glimpse of a more complete spectrum of human potential.
Postural Alignment - a dynamic process of becoming
When we think of posture, we often imagine a perfect external form: the upright spine of a dancer, the symmetry of a classical sculpture, or perhaps a flawless still image of ourselves at our very best. But at Infinite Movement, we understand posture as something alive and fluid.
An ongoing dialogue between gravity and grace, effort and ease, inner landscape and outer form. To “align” ourselves, then, is not to conform to an ideal, but to return to a dynamic balance within the evolving architecture of who we are. Postural Alignment programs include embodiment and movement practise, bodywork and bodymind inquiry.
Movement Coaching - the body becomes the teacher
At Infinite Movement, we offer a unique and integrative approach to movement coaching which is designed to support performance optimization, injury prevention and rehabilitation. Our disciplines include: Dance conditioning, yoga, ideokinesis, Franklin Method, Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) and both classical and contemporary dance techniques. Each of these modalities contributes to a multidimensional framework for intelligent, progressive and informative movement training.
